The scene where he gives Ichigo the bell might have worked back in the day, but now it's just so awkward to watch

The only thing that bothered me was how he just blatantly stole the cat's choker and gave it to her 😭, at least in the original he bought it himself.

Yep that is the only change from the original anime and manga.

Yeah that is so 90's but then again this is following the manga and a little of the original anime.

in "Black Cat" it had a little different meaning. "3 mice try to put a bell on a bad cat to hear then it was approaching." In this case MC the assassin received it as a gift, to change his cold blooded path.

I've never liked Aoyama, so I certainly have some bias here, but... WOW there were a lot of red flags this episode! XD If I was her friend and saw this date I would be begging her to stay away from this guy - he's bad news! D:

I never managed to ship them in the first anime, Ryou and Quiche always managed to have some "heart of gold" shine from behind the as*hollery veneer and seemed more interesting.

not Aoyama-kun stealing a cat's collar and giving it to Ichigo 😭😭🤣 and then he has the nerve to say something like "you're my kitty" like nah bro I'm dead 💀 and I thought Quiche stealing a kiss would be the worst thing about this episode boy was I wrong lmao

We, the old fans, are just blinded by the length of the OG anime since that was more a story on its own rather than an adaptation.

Yeah sorry I'm late on this overview which will be short.
First: Love how they kept Bu-Ling (Pudding) as exactly as she was in the original anime and manga as a slight rambunctious but really energetic young girl which she is pose to be the youngest of the mew mews, and the new ("Rain Toda") did her well.

And now to the main points, Mew Pudding's mew girl attire is a long frilly easy to move in magical girl like dress with frilly wrist guards, flat shoes with laces to up the legs, leg grader ribbon, and the two piece tamber bell rings. Which is post to be from the new redesigned 2020 piece where's the he og has original attire which is that of a gymnast like leotard with monkey fur like fingerless gloves, same kind shoes set as the newest look but with a heavy fabric leg garter.
But her the old hair style is more tomboyish pixie bob with many mini chain pony tails while in the new she has longer chain pony tales and small bush pig tales.

Second we have been shown 1 of the 3 main villain's which is "Quiche" and pretty much the same look and mischief personality but with more crisp animation.
Also pretty much most of the storyline went into the source material but a few key differences:
*The ribbon from the cat is new which in I think in the manga and I know in the og anime it was bought where in this the ribbon collar came from a black cat.
*As for the pace it's going fast everyone is saying but in the manga this whole storyline of the ep is like only 4 chapters in volume 2 and next ep were going into the final mew mew girl.
*The whole awkwardness between is about right with the manga but this is more stiffer than that.
*For Puddings backstory, it was just brief introduction and lead to the big battle scene which was about the same in the manga but longer in the og anime and it's shorter in this. Also they cut one scene where Pudding joins them as one of the Mew cafe maids so which I wanted to see though T^T.
*Next ep is Zakuro which is most likely just gonna cover her in 1 whole ep while in og anime it was 3 eps and about a couple of chapters in the manga which will cover all of volume 2 by next ep I think.

pudding's episode was one of my favorites in the original but this was just...underwhelming lol, she didn't even get a proper introduction. same with mint

but but mint was already a mew mew in this iteration (ichigo is clearly the MC) in the og ichigo had to convince mint (without much of an introduction either tbh) xD

yeah I'm not a fan of what they did with mint either, and mint' s episode in the original did properly introduce her character- even shed some light on her backstory. the characters were developed a lot better back then imo

hmmm not sure if mint's character was really developed that much but yeah the fillers did help us get to know them better
